Small Embedded Motherboard for Medical Devices

System Overview

An embedded small Single Board Computer (SBC) is used as a processor of desktop Spirometer with LCD display, pneumotach flow measurement board, operation panel, card slot for data storage and thermal printer to output measured data.

Due to the limited space of desktop medical equipment it requires small footprint, and it needs low heat generation inside the equipment to keep accuracy.

Requirements For Industrial Motherboards

  • Designed for medical equipment use (IEC60601-1 certified is the best)
  • Long term support for medical certificate
  • 3.5” Small form factor SBC with Dual core+ Atom processor, 4GB+ SDRAM, 256GB+ SSD (M.2 or mSATA)
  • LCD connection and 4x USB ports are required as interfaces
  • 12VDC Single power supply from internal power supply of the equipment
  • Easy replacement of backup battery. BIOS customization as customers default
  • Power down without shutdown operation
  • Shipping with master OS image that customer built
